THIS is why we should let Nature take it's course. Wild Animals should not be enclosed. If they are becoming extinct perhaps we need to look at WHY they are becoming extinct.

San Francisco police probe fatal zoo attack

San Francisco police on Wednesday investigated whether a Siberian tiger had help in escaping its zoo habitat before it killed a teenager and injured two other people on Christmas Day.
Police told a news conference at the San Francisco Zoo that they were treating the city-run facility as a crime scene. Investigators are looking into whether the tiger, which had mauled a zoo employee last year, had been taunted before its rampage.

Police also indicated they were considering whether someone might have let the 9-year-old tiger, known as Tatiana, out of its exhibit.

Police shot and killed the tiger after it turned toward them as they attempted to divert its attention from one of the injured victims on the ground.

Zoo spokeswoman Lora LaMarca said zoo officials could not comment on how the tiger got out of its habitat, a grotto surrounded by a 15-foot (4.5 meter) moat and 20-foot (6 meter) wall.

"It is an ongoing police investigation and it is still being looked into," LaMarca said.
San Francisco’s medical examiner identified the victim of the fatal attack as Carlos Sousa Jr., 17, of San Jose, California. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two other victims, 19- and 23-year-old brothers from San Jose, were reported in stable condition at a San Francisco hospital.

The tiger attacked Sousa in front of its enclosure and the the brothers about 300 yards from it.
The same tiger had injured a zoo worker during a public feeding last December. The zoo made safety upgrades and recently resumed the public feedings.

The other day the skytrain broke down at the Chinatown station so I decided to walk down to Hastings to catch the bus. It was about 10:30am, & I was shocked, frightened, & very saddened by what I saw. Everyone knows what goes on in that area & it's is one thing to drive through in your car with the windows up and the doors locked but it was a completely different experience walking down the street alone. I think it should be mandatory for everyone who lives in Vancouver to go down to the lower east side and experience what is going on. I believe that homelessness is a symptom of a larger problem...drug addiction. I must do something to help.

This City Sure is Getting Stinky!

I went to Mr. Jock Itch's palace today to do maintenance on some amazing specimen plants, and I am so upset! They got their plants at M****n C***k Nurseries and the plants came VERY BADLY INFESTED WITH SCALE!!! Oh my fucking goodness! Anyone in my industry can tell you that one of THE worst things is scale insect on Raphis Palms in interior environments. I can not believe that they sold these plants. Any reputable grower would have noticed this infestation and eradicated it and most certainly would not sell these plants to non-professionals who have no clue. These very large amazingly gorgeous plants were destine to die...in a short period of time! SAD! It is a good thing these people contacted me when they did. Seeing these plants made my plants soul ache.

P.S. I can't wait till the garbage strike is over. This city fucking reeks!

Save the Bees from Bee Disease!

In the middle of this photo is a bee. I recently read an article that a lot of bees are dieing and the scientists don't know why. They are blaming cell phones. I like that theory. Apparently the cell phone waves are disorienting the bees. Tonight I just saw a news story about a bee disease that is killing 90% of bee populations in some areas. This makes me sad! We must save the bees. Without bees there is no pollination which means no flowers...no veggies...no food and in turn the END OF THE WORLD!

Stealing Plants is Wrong and You WILL Go to Hell!

So someone totally stole plants out of the planter that I planted outside Joji's Salon!! (That's a lot of plant words in one sentence!) Anyways...fucking asshole plant thieves! Well, I tried to beautify the Drive...but this will not discourage me! Do not underestimate the power of plants! You jerks take the plants I'll just replace them, you take them again I will replace them again...and again. The plant bandits will be like "wow we hit the jackpot!" They will probably have a nicer garden than mine. Assholes.

I Have Such A Gay Hangover

What a fabulous weekend!! On Saturday we went to watch the Fireworks competition! Thank the stars we knew people who where staying in the Sylvia Hotel and watched from there! There was OVER 1.5 MILLION people on the beaches! For those of you who haven't been it is absolutely amazing! For someone like me who grew up in a town of 12oo people it just blows my mind to see the sea of people! My entire hometown would have been in a 1/2 a block space!

It was one of those moment where I wish I brought my camera...actually it was a moment where I wish had a good camera, I soooo need a new camera, I think mine is hooped. I must get a camera soon it will make my blog much more fun! This weekend was full of perfect camera moments but I got none to share, sad!

Yesterday was full of lots of gay fun! The parade was great and everyone was in such great spirits! And now I need a nap!

Is It Possible to Fall in Love with a Street?

I think I have fallen in love with the street where I live. I love Commercial Drive! I spent yesterday beautifying a planter in front of jojis(sp?). Everyone was so appreciative of the plants, and friendly, even the Scrublers were pleasant! I had so much fun! East Van Rocks, I say! However, I haven't been by today yet...it could be all trashed.
